The whole story, from the morning to the last song: getting ready, the nerves, the ceremony, the portraits, the dinner, the speeches and the dancing.

Portuguese weddings run late — dinners are long and the party often goes past midnight — so a full day here is a long one. For bigger weddings most photographers offer a second photographer, so both of you are covered while you get ready.

When the day runs over
Check what happens if the party goes on: an extra hour, and its price, should be in the package or easy to add.
A second photographer
With more than a few dozen guests, two photographers see twice as much — both getting-ready rooms, the ceremony from two sides, the guests while you take portraits.
Plan the light, not just the timetable
Put the portraits in the hour before sunset and keep the speeches before dark if you can. Your photographer will help you shape the day around the light.
