**In short**

- Published prices for wedding photography in Spain run from under €1,000 to €8,000 and more for a full day, as of October 2026: Bodas.net puts a professional photographer at about €1,500 on average, while a Spain-based destination photographer’s July 2026 guide says most of his couples spend €2,000–€3,500.
- On Spanish quote platforms, Zaask gives an average of €850–€1,200 (jobs from €350 to €2,500) and Cronoshare lists a full 8–12-hour day at €2,000–€7,500 (January 2026).
- The islands cost most: Mallorca and Ibiza at €2,500–€5,000 in one photographer’s July 2026 guide and €3,000–€6,500+ in another’s, against €1,200–€2,800 for Seville and Granada.
- Many Spanish quotes exclude VAT: IVA is 21% on the mainland and in the Balearics, while the Canary Islands charge IGIC instead, at a general rate of 7%.
- On Lens & Vows every photographer sets their own price and you pay that price: a 30% deposit when they accept, and the balance straight to them or through us, in up to 3 instalments with an optional 5% payment-protection fee.

Every photographer on Lens & Vows sets their own price, and the same photographer may charge differently for a two-hour elopement on a Tuesday in February and a full Saturday in September — so no single figure is “the price”. What does exist are the prices that quote platforms, wedding directories and photographers themselves publish. This guide sets them out with their sources and dates, region by region, then explains what a price is made of — because two Spanish quotes that look very different usually describe very different days.

In short, the price follows **time** (Spanish weddings run late, and hours on the day mean hours at the desk afterwards), **people** (one photographer or two), **extras** Spanish couples often add (a preboda and a postboda session, an album, video), **travel** — especially to the islands — **when** you marry, and **tax**. For the whole wedding budget, Bodas.net’s 2026 survey of more than 2,000 couples who married in 2025 puts the average Spanish wedding at €25,183, before the honeymoon and the ring.

## What do wedding photographers in Spain charge?

The published figures, as of October 2026. They measure different things — what couples spend on average, the average job on a quote platform, one studio’s package, a destination photographer’s view of the market — so the second column matters as much as the third.

| Who published it | What it measures | Price | When |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Bodas.net, a Spanish wedding directory | A professional photographer for the wedding, on average (video separately) | About €1,500 (video about €1,200) | Updated 4 June 2026 |
| Zaask, a Spanish quote platform | The average wedding photographer job requested through it | €850–€1,200 on average; jobs from €350 to €2,500; a full reportage €990–€1,500; with video €1,990–€2,500 | Checked October 2026 |
| Cronoshare, a Spanish quote platform | Budgets professionals sent through it, by length of coverage | 4–6 hours €800–€1,500; 6–8 hours €1,200–€2,800; a full 8–12-hour day €2,000–€7,500 | 6 January 2026 |
| Rubén Mejías, a Madrid photographer’s price list | A full day, from getting ready to well into the party | €1,600; second photographer +€300; album from €290 | Checked October 2026 |
| Especial Fotógrafos, a studio in Madrid and Granada | A full day with a 50-page album; with video | €2,250 with IVA (€1,859 without); €3,250 with IVA | Checked October 2026 |
| Wieslaw Photography, a Mallorca photographer’s price list | 8 hours; 10 hours; a full day with a second photographer; a weekday with 3 hours minimum | €3,900; €4,900; €5,900; €2,500 | July 2026 |
| Jordi Dalmau (Dalmare Photo), a Spain destination photographer’s guide | The market by experience | €1,000–€1,800 (newer); €2,000–€3,500 (mid-range, where most of his couples spend); €3,500–€8,000 (premium); €9,000+ (luxury) | July 2026 |
| Darista Wedding, a Valencia-based photography duo’s guide | The market by experience | €1,000–€1,800 (budget); €2,000–€3,000 (standard professional); €3,500–€7,000 (editorial and documentary); €8,000–€15,000+ (luxury) | 1 June 2026 |

Read it as two markets. **Weddings of Spanish couples**, booked through directories, quote platforms and local studios, cluster around €1,000–€2,500 for the day — Bodas.net’s average of about €1,500 sits in the middle. **Destination weddings**, photographed by people who work in English with couples from abroad, start around €2,000 and run past €5,000 for the most in-demand, with the islands at the top. Both include excellent photographers; what usually separates them is how much of a long Spanish day is covered, the size and finish of the gallery, travel, and how much demand one person’s calendar has.

## Does the region change the price?

Yes, mostly through demand and travel. No official body publishes photographers’ prices by region, so this table compares two destination photographers’ 2026 guides — read them as their view of the market, not a census:

| Region | Jordi Dalmau, Dalmare Photo (July 2026) | Darista Wedding (June 2026) |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Barcelona & Catalonia](https://lensandvows.com/spain/barcelona) | Barcelona: €2,000–€4,000; Girona, Costa Brava and Sitges: €1,500–€3,500 | Barcelona and the Costa Brava: €2,500–€5,500+ |
| [Madrid](https://lensandvows.com/spain/madrid) | €2,000–€4,000 | — |
| [Andalusia](https://lensandvows.com/spain/andalusia) | Seville and Granada: €1,200–€2,800 | — |
| [Mallorca & the Balearics](https://lensandvows.com/spain/mallorca) | Mallorca and Ibiza: €2,500–€5,000 | Mallorca and Ibiza: €3,000–€6,500+ |
| [Valencia & the Costa Blanca](https://lensandvows.com/spain/valencia) | — | Valencia: €2,000–€4,500 |

Cronoshare adds that weddings in Madrid, Barcelona or tourist cities such as San Sebastián can cost 20–40% more than its national average. For the [Basque Country](https://lensandvows.com/spain/basque-country) and the [Canary Islands](https://lensandvows.com/spain/canary-islands) we found no published regional range we could stand behind; expect island weddings to carry travel costs if your photographer flies in, and ask for a quote with travel itemised. Hotels and banquets differ by region too: Bodas.net’s 2026 figures put the banquet at €267 a guest in Asturias, €224 in the Basque Country, €207 in Madrid and Catalonia and €134 in Murcia.

## What the price is made of

### Hours of coverage — and a long Spanish day

Spanish weddings start late and finish later: a ceremony in the early evening, a cocktail, a long dinner, then dancing past midnight. A “boda completa” (full wedding) in a Spanish price list usually means from getting ready to well into the party, not to the last song — Rubén Mejías’ list says exactly that. Cronoshare’s brackets show how hours drive the price: €800–€1,500 for 4–6 hours, €2,000–€7,500 for 8–12. Ask where the hours start and stop, and what an extra hour costs: €200–€500 in Jordi Dalmau’s 2026 guide. [How many hours of wedding photography you need](https://lensandvows.com/journal/how-many-hours-wedding-photography) shows what each hour covers.

### The hours you don’t see

Every hour of shooting is followed by work at the desk: backing up, choosing the best frames, editing colour and light, building the gallery. Darista’s guide counts 600–1,200 edited photos for a full day from a premium duo, delivered in two to five weeks. It is a large part of what you pay for, and the part couples most often underestimate — [how many wedding photos to expect](https://lensandvows.com/journal/how-many-wedding-photos).

### One photographer or two

A second photographer covers both of you getting ready, the ceremony from two angles and the guests while the first works on portraits. In 2026 price lists from Spain it adds €300 (Rubén Mejías, Madrid), €550 (Especial Fotógrafos) or €600–€800 (Jordi Dalmau’s guide); one Mallorca photographer includes one in the full-day package. [Do you need a second photographer?](https://lensandvows.com/journal/second-shooter-wedding-photographer)

### The preboda and the postboda

Two sessions are common in Spain. A **preboda** is a shoot before the wedding, in your own clothes — a way to get used to the camera; Cronoshare puts it at €149–€370 for 2–3 hours, and published add-ons run from €250 (Rubén Mejías) to €400 (Especial Fotógrafos), or €600 with a Mallorca package. A **postboda** is a session after the wedding, back in your wedding clothes, somewhere spectacular and without the rush of the day: €200–€500 for 4–5 hours on Cronoshare. Couples from abroad can use the day after the wedding for one. Our [engagement session](https://lensandvows.com/weddings/engagement) packages are the same idea.

### Travel, islands and ferries

Spain is big: Madrid to Seville is a high-speed train ride, Barcelona to Mallorca a flight or a ferry, and the Canary Islands lie off the coast of Africa, a flight from anywhere on the mainland. A photographer from another region may add a travel day, a night or two in a hotel and the fares. Some include travel within their province; others itemise it. Ask which, and who books flights and rooms. [A photographer based in Spain, or one you fly in](https://lensandvows.com/journal/local-vs-destination-photographer) works through an example.

### Season, day of the week and demand

September and June are Spain’s busiest wedding months — 13.1% and 12.8% of 2024’s marriages, with October third at 11.6% ([INE’s figures](https://lensandvows.com/journal/best-time-to-marry-in-spain)) — and a photographer can only be at one wedding a day. Cronoshare advises booking 9–12 months ahead and warns that the most in-demand photographers fill May–October Saturdays 12–18 months ahead. Some photographers price weekdays lower: one Mallorca list offers a Monday-to-Thursday wedding, three hours minimum, at €2,500.

### What you take home

- **An online gallery** of edited photos is the usual deliverable; ask how many photos to expect and how long it stays online.
- **An album** adds design and printing: €250–€650 on Cronoshare, from €290 in one Madrid list, with smaller parents’ albums (two for €250 in another).
- **Video** is often a separate supplier and a separate price — about €1,200 on average according to Bodas.net. See [photographer, videographer or both](https://lensandvows.com/journal/photographer-videographer-or-both).
- **[Film photography](https://lensandvows.com/styles/film)** costs more per frame; Darista lists a film add-on from €150 and full analogue coverage from €1,000.
- **Drone photos** need an operator registered with AESA, Spain’s aviation safety agency, who follows its drone rules (Real Decreto 517/2024); many natural parks forbid them. More in [where to elope in Spain](https://lensandvows.com/journal/where-to-elope-in-spain).

### The venue’s fee for an outside photographer

Some Spanish venues — fincas, restaurants, a few churches — work with an exclusive photographer, or charge a fee, a **canon**, if you bring your own. A Madrid videographer, Alex Díaz, put typical canons at €150–€300 in January 2025 and argues they are abusive under consumer law; venues see it differently. Whatever the rights and wrongs, ask the venue before you sign, get it in writing, and add it to the photographer’s price when you compare.

## IVA and IGIC: is VAT included?

Often not. Spain’s general VAT rate, IVA, is 21% (Agencia Tributaria), and both destination photographers’ guides above warn that many quotes are given without it. On a €2,000 quote, that is €420. The Canary Islands have no IVA: they charge IGIC, whose general rate is 7%. Look for “IVA incluido” or “+ IVA” on every quote — Especial Fotógrafos, for example, prints both: €2,250 with IVA, €1,859 without.

## The package types on Lens & Vows

Photographers here describe what they offer in a few shared shapes, so you can compare like with like. Within each, prices vary from photographer to photographer for all the reasons above.

| Package | Coverage | Suits |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Elopement](https://lensandvows.com/weddings/elopement) | Two to four hours | Just the two of you, or a handful of people; a ceremony and portraits in one or two places |
| [Intimate wedding](https://lensandvows.com/weddings/intimate) | Set by each photographer for a smaller day | A small guest list: ceremony, portraits, a long lunch or dinner |
| [Full day](https://lensandvows.com/weddings/full-day) | Eight to twelve hours | From getting ready into the party — on a Spanish timetable, ask how far into the night |
| [Destination](https://lensandvows.com/weddings/destination) | Several days | Guests travelling from abroad: a welcome evening, the wedding, a postboda the day after |

## How to compare quotes fairly

Put quotes side by side only once they describe the same day. Check:

- **The same hours**, from the same start to the same finish — on a Spanish wedding day, how far into the party.
- **The same deliverables**: gallery, album, preboda, postboda, video, drone — included or extra.
- **How many photos**, roughly, and the delivery time for the full gallery.
- **Travel**: included or added, and who books flights, ferries and rooms.
- **A second photographer**, if one quote has one and the other doesn’t.
- **Overtime**: the price of an extra hour if the party runs late.
- **Tax**: “IVA incluido” or “+ IVA” (21%), or IGIC (7%) in the Canaries.
- **The venue’s canon**, if your venue charges one for an outside photographer.

Then look at whole weddings, not just a portfolio of best shots: a highlight reel shows a good day, a complete gallery shows what someone delivers every time. [How to choose a wedding photographer](https://lensandvows.com/journal/how-to-choose-a-wedding-photographer) takes the decision step by step, and [the contract checklist](https://lensandvows.com/journal/wedding-photography-contract-checklist) covers what to get in writing.

## Red flags

- **No written contract**, or one that leaves out the date, hours, deliverables, tax or delivery time.
- **Only highlights.** If a photographer can’t show a single whole wedding, ask why.
- **Pressure to pay everything up front, off the platform.** On Lens & Vows the deposit is always paid through us, and contact details are shared once it is paid. If someone asks you to pay it another way, [tell us](https://lensandvows.com/contact).
- **A price that moves** after you have agreed it, with nothing about the day having changed — including tax that appears only on the invoice.

## How paying works on Lens & Vows

You pay the photographer’s own price. When they accept your request, you pay a **30% deposit** through us (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or MB WAY in euros), which holds the date; our commission comes out of that deposit, never on top. The **balance** is your choice: straight to the photographer — bank transfer, cash, their usual terms — with no fee from us; or by card through us, in up to 3 instalments, plus a **5% payment-protection fee** shown up front. Paid through us, the balance reaches the photographer only after you accept your gallery. The details, including what happens if either side cancels, are on [payment protection](https://lensandvows.com/payment-protection) and in [how deposits and payment protection work](https://lensandvows.com/journal/deposits-and-payment-protection).

## Questions couples ask

### How much does a wedding photographer cost in Spain?

As of October 2026, published prices for a wedding day run from under €1,000 to €8,000 and more. Bodas.net puts a professional photographer at about €1,500 on average, the quote platform Zaask at €850–€1,200, and Cronoshare lists a full 8–12-hour day at €2,000–€7,500; one destination photographer who works with couples from abroad says most of his couples spend €2,000–€3,500. Compare quotes for the same hours and deliverables, and check whether IVA is included.

### Is a wedding photographer more expensive in Mallorca?

Usually, yes. Two Spain-based photographers’ 2026 guides put Mallorca and Ibiza at €2,500–€5,000 and €3,000–€6,500+, the highest of any region, and one Mallorca photographer publishes €3,900 for 8 hours and €5,900 for a full day with a second photographer (July 2026). Travel to the island adds to the bill if your photographer flies in.

### Do wedding photographer prices in Spain include VAT?

Often not. Spanish IVA is 21%, and destination photographers note that many quote without it, so a €2,000 quote can become €2,420. In the Canary Islands there is no IVA; IGIC applies instead, at a general rate of 7%. Ask whether each quote says “IVA incluido” or “+ IVA”.

### What is a preboda and a postboda?

A preboda is a photo session before the wedding, in everyday clothes, to get used to the camera; a postboda is a session after the wedding, back in your wedding clothes, somewhere spectacular and unhurried. Spanish price lists in 2026 charge about €250–€400 for a preboda, and Cronoshare puts a 4–5-hour postboda at €200–€500.

### How much does a second wedding photographer cost in Spain?

In 2026 price lists, €300 (a Madrid photographer), €550 (a Madrid and Granada studio) or €600–€800 (a destination photographer’s guide). Some photographers include a second in their largest package, so compare whole packages rather than the add-on alone.

### How far ahead should we book a wedding photographer in Spain?

Cronoshare advises 9–12 months, and 12–18 months for the most in-demand photographers on Saturdays from May to October. September and June are Spain’s busiest wedding months (13.1% and 12.8% of 2024’s weddings, INE), so book those first.

### How much deposit do we pay a wedding photographer?

It depends on the photographer’s contract. On Lens & Vows it is always 30% of the photographer’s price, paid through us when they accept, and it holds the date; the balance goes straight to the photographer or through us, in up to 3 instalments with an optional 5% payment-protection fee.
